Welcome to Mi Familia
Mi Familia Kitchen was created from a love of family, culture, and good food.
Owners Ron and Tyra were both born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where family gatherings and traditional Puerto Rican meals were an important part of their lives. Their dream was to create a place where they could share those same flavors, traditions, and feelings of home with the Manchester community.
Recipes Rooted in Family
For Tyra, cooking has always been about more than simply preparing a meal.
She learned many of her traditional Puerto Rican recipes from her mother and grandmother, carrying forward the flavors and techniques that were passed down through generations. Tyra also attended culinary school and previously spent two years operating a Puerto Rican restaurant in Lawrence.
That combination of family tradition, experience, and love goes into every dish served at Mi Familia Kitchen.
From an Idea to Mi Familia Kitchen
In September 2022, Ron and Tyra purchased Parkside Convenience on Hooksett Road in Manchester.
Behind the convenience store was an underused kitchen space—and they saw an opportunity. What began as an idea slowly became a bigger dream: transforming that space into a kitchen where Manchester families could enjoy authentic Puerto Rican food made fresh and served with care.
Through hard work, patience, and determination, Mi Familia Kitchen was born.
Why Mi Familia
Mi Familia means “my family,” and that name represents exactly how Ron and Tyra want people to feel when they visit.
Whether you are stopping in for a quick lunch, picking up dinner for your family, or trying Puerto Rican food for the first time, the goal is always the same: serve flavorful food, generous portions, and treat every customer like part of the family.
